1D consolidation

1D Consolidation FD Solver (Interactive)

1-D Consolidation — Finite Difference Solver

Explicit FD scheme with β = 1/6. Supports open (double drainage) and half-closed (impermeable bottom) layers. Interpolates coarse initial profile to a finer FD grid.

If number of values doesn't match im+1, the vector will be linearly interpolated between first and last values.

Computed parameters

Refined intervals m
Nodes (m+1)
dz (m)
dt (s) from β (= β·dz²/cv)
Time steps (n) computed
Textbook formulas (for β ≈ 1/6): open → n = 1.5·m²·Tv (Tv = cv·t/(h/2)²), half-closed → n = 6·m²·Tv. If Use formulaic n = Yes, those n are shown here.
